A friend of mine once asked me... who among the young Hollywood actors I definitely see as a character actor...
Nothing came to my mind except... BRAD RENFRO.

He's only year younger than me, and just like Edward Furlong, he started big even before he hit puberty. But unlike Edward Furlong, Brad Renfro is now dead at 25.
And like his Hollywood comrades... which includes Macaulay Culkin and again Edward Furlong... they all went through s phase of the Hollywood curse... being young, rich and untouchable by their parents simply because they bring food to the table.
His death wasn't a surprise, because he has been battling his addiction since he turned 17... but still, his sudden demise is such a waste.
I hope this is going to be a wake up call to young actors, models, celebrities out there... that however young, rich and powerful you are... you need guidance and direction... and these are not the ones you get from school, these are the ones you get from home. If your parents can't do it for you, look for someone who can. And stick with them...
I first saw Brad in the movie The Client, opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones, since then... ultimate crush, before Leonardo di Caprio came alive as Romeo :P and stole Brad's thunder :D
He only did a few movies, but those few were absolutely worthy of cinema movie and DVD money... he's very talented, just like Dakota Fanning, and even Anna Paquin in The Piano... he's like that... he's a caliber actor...
So here's to you dear Brad... my former ultimate crush :D
Oh, for the time when I shall sleep
